Times are changing – Spit leaves MCB

August 18, 2011
We are sad to announce Spit and My City Burning have parted ways as of this week.
We want to emphasize this has been decided in mutual agreement and there is no ill blood.
A new bassplayer has been hired and will be announced shortly.
Read below for Spit’s statement.
“After almost five years of being part of the MCB family I am sad to say that I am leaving the band. I am busy recording a new record with my death/thrash band MagnaCult and combining both bands will not be possible in the future. MCB is on a heavy roller-coaster ride, rockin’ as many stages as possible and I have had to miss a lot of them already due to severing my achilles tendon in April. I had a major blast playing over a hundred shows with my great friends Ramon, Igor and Maarten and our amazing crew. I will miss you all a lot! I hope we’ll cross each other’s paths many times in the future and I cherish all the great times we had together. All the laughs, all the booze we shared (and that was a lot!!!), and the fun we had! I love you guys to death and I am proud to have been a member of such a great and hard working band. A huge HELL-YEAH goes out from me to all the people that helped MCB so far. To all the great new friends I gained while thrashing stages across Europe and to all the die-hard MCB fans! Without you MCB would not be where it is now!
Greetzzz, respect & \m/etal,
Spit”
In conclusion, MCB would like to add that this has not been an easy decision for any of us and that we will miss Spit dearly.
We have started upon a journey together, sharing amazing exeriences along the way and together building brick upon brick to get where we are now.
Anyone who has been in a hardworking band knows how much it sucks to have to carry on without “one of the guys”. It often feels like “breaking-up”…
Nevertheless, we are glad to have had the opportunity to grow towards this decision on a mutual basis and in full agreement.
We are lucky to have had Spit in MCB for 5 years and want to wish him all the very best on the journey that lies ahead of him.
Over the last week we have decided who will replace Spit and, although he has less  beard, we are absolutely over the moon
that he has agreed to join “this thing of ours”. A worthy replacement, to say the least!
We will announce a name shortly.
For now, let’s all take a moment and reminisce all the awesome moments we’ve shared with Spit…
All the best to you, dear brother.

Win a tattoo at the Haarlem Blood For Blood show!

April 20, 2011

Getting the name, logo or lyrics of your favorite band tattooed, it’s the ultimate way to show your love for the band. If you’ve been thinking about getting something inked, this is your chance. The 22nd of April there will be tattoo artists present at the Blood For Blood show in Patronaat, Haarlem. There has been a lot of live music at tattoo conventions, why not turn it around?

Patronaat and Haarlem tattoo studio Burning Heart are giving away one tattoo, that will be done at the show. To have a chance at winning, all you have to do is tag yourself in this Facebook image and comment what you would like to get tattooed. The winner is announced Thursday April 21st (so be quick!) and the tattoo will be done April 22nd at the show.

BFB tattoo

After some time of silence, Blood For Blood is playing live again. On guitar they bring along Billy of the notorious Biohazard, just like they did on the Persistence Tour in 2010. The show on April 22nd will also feature Hoods, No Turning Back, My City Burning and Crushing Caspars.

We play early, so win this shit, get inked up and come do some stagedives and beers with us!
